    2017 Engineer Career Day Marshall University

    The 24th Annual Engineering Career Day was hosted at Marshall University. More than 129 of the Tri-State area's top sophomores attended from 16 local high schools. The Huntington District had a large presence with multiple booths that highlighted engineering, geospatial applications as well as Corps opportunities. Students had the opportunity to participate in 3 hands-on STEM-related workshops and interact with practicing professionals in an interactive exhibit hall. The event was held in support of National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) to ensure a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce and to Promote STEM activities in support of the USACE mission.

    Area students get hands on experience in STEM education at Science Olympiad

    District employee Reg Bourgeois took part in the the 2017 Central New Mexico Science Olympiad at the University of New Mexico, Jan. 28, 2017, judging the Wright Stuff event. Area students took part in several events in STEM disciplines and the top teams will go on to the next level - the N.M. Science Olympiad.

    Baltimore District engineer recognized nationally as Federal Engineer of the Year agency winner

    Mary Foutz, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District Military Design Branch, Mechanical Section chief, received an esteemed national award as an agency winner during the Federal Engineer of the Year Award ceremony at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., Feb. 17, 2017. As an agency winner, she, alongside 25 other esteemed engineers nationwide, was a finalist for the Federal Engineer of the Year.

    Emerging leaders group hosts icebreaker

    To start the New Year the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s 2017 Emerging Leaders
