    2017 Ohio River Basin Consortium for Research and Education (ORBCRE) & Ohio River Basin Alliance (ORBA) Symposium

    Marshall University in Huntington, WV hosted the 33rd annual Scientific Symposium of the Ohio River Basin Consortium for Research and Education (ORBCRE), which was co-sponsored by the Ohio River Basin Alliance (ORBA). The theme for the symposium was “Partnerships Across the Ohio River Basin.” Panel discussion subjects were: Education & Outreach, Inland Navigation, Citizen Science, Flood Control & Risk Reduction, Drone-Based Assessment, Harmful Algal Blooms, Water Quality Monitoring, Citizen Engagement, Recreation & Tourism, and Environmental Restoration. Several USACE employees participated in these panel discussions.
  • HENAAC honors Corps employees at national conference

    Great Minds in STEM has a long tradition of honoring civilian and uniformed military personnel in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. During the 29th annual Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Corporation conference Oct. 18 to 22 here, three U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees received recognition for their outstanding performance in support of that program.
