    Heart of a volunteer

    Deb Lewis, an environmental manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, recently returned from helping people whose homes were destroyed by October 2017 wildfires in northern California’s Wine Country. Just days before the wildfires, Lewis was in Houston as part of the Corps’ Hurricane Harvey recovery team.

    Bustling Corps Forestry Program supports habitat, enhances military training

    There’s a saying that money doesn’t grow on trees, but foresters at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Forestry Resources Office at Fort Stewart, Georgia, may beg to differ. They generate thousands of dollars every year from something that grows on trees - pine cones.

    LOS ANGELES – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District signed a design agreement to move forward with the LA River Ecosystem Restoration project at a recent meeting with city officials.

    More than 300 contractors attended the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Louisville District Businesses Opportunities Open House, Jan. 18, at the Marriott Downtown Hotel, Louisville, where the District Commander sang a few notes from Disney’s High School Musical song, “We’re all in this together.”
