We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kicks Off Year Long Celebration of 250 Years of Service to the Nation

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is highlighting it 250 years of service to the nation by celebrating its birthday throughout 2025. USACE was established on June 16, 1775, when the Continental Congress authorized the first Chief Engineer to oversee the construction of fortifications and other military infrastructure.

    Employees garner Army Safety Guardian Awards for lifesaving actions

    Nashville, Tenn. (Jan. 22, 2025) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District recently recognized four employees with Army Safety Guardian Awards for providing aid to a lock operator suffering from life-threatening anaphylactic shock from multiple yellowjacket wasp stings while working at Old Hickory Lock on the Cumberland River in Old Hickory, Tennessee.

    USACE, Missouri and Nebraska Department of Resources partner on flood risk feasibility study

    Engineers and project members from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Nebraska DNR, Nebraska Public Power District and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, initiated a feasibility study to assess flood risk reduction measures along the Missouri River in Nemaha County, Nebraska, and Atchison County, Missouri, during a signing ceremony on Jan. 15, 2025.
  • Dr. Paul A. Cox, SWG Engineering Technician, gave the invocation. The observance was organized by Dr. Rose M. Caballero, SWG Equal Employment Manager and Ms. Patricia “Pat” Agee, Black Employment Manager. SWG Commander, Col Rhett A. Blackmon gave opening remarks to the scores of people who attended in person and many more watching online.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Galveston District (SWG), honored the life and memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a ceremony at district headquarters on King’s birthday, Jan. 15, 2025. Dr. Paul A. Cox, SWG Engineering Technician, gave the invocation.
