We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

According to her nomination, “Ms. Kimble has been very instrumental in boosting the Resource Management team’s morale by creating a welcoming professional environment to work in. She has a creative, helpful, gentle spirit and her willingness to MANUALLY work hard is unmatched. Ingrid coordinated with Contracting, ULA, and a moving company to collect old, unused, and broken-down equipment from three of Resource Management’s internal offices and had the equipment transferred to Ensley Engineer Yard.”

  • Army Corps Completes Coastal Project Ahead of Schedule; Engages Community

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, recently completed placing 500,000 cubic yards of sand along 4,100 feet of coastline in Downtown Montauk on the eastern tip of Long Island in New York’s Suffolk County. With favorable weather conditions allowing for completion ahead of schedule, the $11.7 million project also refurbished dunes eroded by a series of storms.
  • Survey & Mapping Employees Earn Army Corps’ Innovation Award for Unmanned Survey Vessel

    Army Corps of Engineers’ employees in the New York District’s Survey and Mapping Branch, Operations Division, have been recognized with the 2023 Innovation of the Year Award from Army Corps Headquarters in Washington, D.C., a national honor recognizing outstanding accomplishments in engineering forwarding the mission and serving the Nation.
  • New Safety Chief Inspires District to Reach for the Star in Safety Performance

    Vanessa Matheny, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Middle East District's (TAM) newly appointed Safety and Occupational Health Manager, started when TAM achieved its stage 3 certification in the Corps Safety and Occupational Health Management System (CE-SOHMS). Now she has set the district on a course to achieve another safety accolade, the Army’s Safety and Occupational Health Star Award.
