    ERDC researchers combat cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms

    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center’s (ERDC) Environmental Laboratory (EL) recently completed field trials in Massachusetts and Connecticut, using germicidal ultraviolet light (UV-C) to sustainably suppress and potentially eradicate cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms (cyanoHABs) without using chemicals or causing off-target ecological effects.

    Middlesboro, Ky. --The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, local officials, and residents are celebrating the completion of clearing the Middlesboro Flood Protection Project’s levee channel.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District (SWG) held its Fiscal Year 2024 First Quarter Army Professional Awards Ceremony and Townhall at the Jadwin Building in Galveston, Texas, Dec. 14, 2023. More than 150 District employees attended the ceremony and townhall in person, and many more virtually.
