We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    The Kansas City District is a member of the Missouri Feral Hog Partnership, comprised of multiple resource agencies and private land owners, led by the Missouri Department of Conservation and U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. The goal is to eradicate feral hogs from Missouri.

    When it comes to invasive species, it can be hard to find success stories. The Missouri Feral Hog Elimination Partnership is bucking that trend and seeing success in eliminating feral hogs from private and public lands – including U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Harry S. Truman, Pomme De Terre and Stockton lakes in southern Missouri.

  • Researchers at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center are using a 1:100 scale navigation approach model to test designs for a new auxiliary lock structure for the Montgomery Lock on the Ohio River. The model will help evaluate guard wall lengths in relation to navigation conditions as well as how safely a vessel can navigate into the lock on both sides. (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo)

    ERDC researchers test designs for lock improvements along the Upper Ohio River

    Researchers from the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) have partnered with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Pittsburgh District for a study focused on replacing auxiliary locks at three sites along the Upper Ohio River — Montgomery Lock, Emsworth Lock and Dashields Lock.

    BENTON, Ky. (July 26, 2022) – Throughout the summer, park rangers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District visit Camp Currie each Monday to discuss water safety measures, and to educate the next generation of recreation goers.

  • USACE delivers battery testing facility to NSWC Crane

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District and Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane celebrated the delivery of the Submarine Battery Evaluation Center during a ribbon cutting ceremony July 21, 2022, in Crane, Indiana. The test facility will provide full-scale submarine battery and energy storage testing and modeling capabilities unique to the Navy. The outcome of the testing will improve the Navy's ability to predict, control and mitigate low-capacity batteries.
