    SWG Hosts Gator Hunt for Wounded Veterans

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Galveston District hosted the 7th Annual Lone Star Warriors Outdoors Gator Hunt at its Wallisville Lake Project location from September 28 through October 1. More than a dozen combat injured veterans took part in the event USACE co-hosts in partnership with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Anahuac Emergency Medical Services, and Lone Star Warriors Outdoors (LSWO)—a Texas-based nonprofit 501c3 organization.
  • USACE set to complete Lower Yellowstone irrigation, fish bypass project on schedule

    The Omaha District’s Lower Yellowstone irrigation project in south eastern Montana is on budget and on schedule at approximately 85 percent completion. This civil works construction project began in early 2019 after the Bureau of Reclamation reached out to the District to replace an existing, outdated diversion dam.
  • Army Corps of Engineers districts revitalize Ocean City inlet

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District’s, Hopper Dredge MURDEN conducted 24/7 dredging operations at an inlet near Ocean City, Maryland, during September 2021. The ongoing Ocean City Inlet federal navigation channel and Assateague Bypass dredging efforts enhance safe navigation conditions, boost commercial endeavors, and promote recreational activities for travelers. The USACE Baltimore District routinely receives services from the Wilmington District’s MURDEN or its sister ship CURRITUCK for routine dredging in and around the Inlet. The Baltimore District manages the Ocean City Inlet federal navigation channel and Assateague Bypass project while the Wilmington District staffs, trains and equips these special-purpose dredges that work up and down the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, dredging similar inlets or near-shore coast projects.
  • Fort Gordon Cyber Center to enhance Army Cyber, Signal Corps readiness

    FORT GORDON, GA. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division Command Sgt. Maj. Chad Blansett, U.S. Army Signal Regiment Command Sgt. Maj. Darien Lawshea, and USACE engineers Jan Bovier and Phil Payne toured the site of Fort Gordon's new U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence Sept. 29.
