We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    Mission not impossible: responding to disaster

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District is part of a broad Planning and Response Team, a special team of individuals who respond to disasters like flooding and hurricanes within days of the end of a disaster.
  • PORTSMOUTH Va. – Col. Paul Olsen presents Jorel Nadal, a district safety and health specialist, with the pen he used to sign the Voluntary Protection Program Commitment Statement affirming the district’s support to participate in the safety program at the Craney Island Dredge Material Management Area here. Nadal worked to get the program off the ground at the facility, which will make the area safer for employees through extensive documentation and modeling, which identifies problematic areas; giving employers the chance to see trends and correct deficiencies.

    District one step closer to being accepted into OSHA program

    The Voluntary Protection Program uses performance-based criteria and requires extensive documentation in order to be in compliance. The program uses different models and tools to try and identify problematic areas so agencies can attempt to minimize and eliminate as many accidents as possible.

    Burcham tours one of Nashville District’s major rehabilitation projects

    JAMESTOWN, Ky. (Oct. 10, 2012) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District welcomed Brig. Gen. Margaret W. Burcham, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division commander, on her first visit to Wolf Creek Dam’s Foundation Remediation Project.

  • Tulsa District named single point of entry for Air Force real estate actions

    Recently, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tulsa District real estate office was named as the single point of entry for all U.S. Air Force real estate actions. A meeting will be held in the near future with the Air Force to discuss specific details.
  • PHOENIX - Kevin Thomas (left), chief of the Construction Support Branch at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District’s Arizona/Nevada Area office in Phoenix and Nick Erwin, a District intern, speak with high school students about opportunities with the Corps during the 2012 Arizona Construction Career Days held Oct. 4 at the Papago Park Military Reservation in Phoenix. The District joined area construction firms and schools to give students information on educational and career opportunities in the construction field.

    Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District joined with construction firms, schools and other exhibitors to be a part of the Association for Construction Career Development to participate in the 2012 Arizona Construction Career Days held Oct. 4 at the Papago Park Military Reservation in Phoenix.
