We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

 

 

  • September

    Workers with West Point Construction move material into place Sept. 18 as they continue emergency operations on the levee in Duncan, Ariz. The company was the contractor for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District’s response team in response to a request from the State of Arizona’s Division of Emergency Management for assistance to help prevent a levee from breaching during a severe rainstorm which came as a result of Tropical Storm Odile.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District dispatched personnel Sept. 17 to assist the town in southeast Arizona with its flood fighting efforts during a rain event there.

  • NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2014) – Daphne Jackson, contract liaison, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee of the Month for August 2014. She works in the Operations Division Management Support Branch and is being recognized for her significant contributions.

  • National Hunting & Fishing Day

    Approximately 13,000 hunting and fishing enthusiasts converged on the grounds of the Stonewall Resort State Park on Sept. 27 and 28, 2014, for the 18th annual National Hunting and Fishing Days Celebrations. The event was made possible by a partnership between Stonewall Jackson and Burnsville Lakes and is sponsored by the West Virginia Wildlife Federation and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
  • Volunteers offered the used of their boats to gather trash at Dewey Lake.

    National Public Lands Day at Dewey

    Volunteers celebrated National Public Lands Day on Sept. 27, 2014, by taking part in a cleanup at Dewey Lake in Van Lear, Ky. More than a ton of litter filled 64 garbage bags as 21 volunteers gathered trash and debris from the lake’s shoreline and surface.
