    New Division Commander

    New Division Commander

    Brig. Gen. Richard G. Kaiser assumed command of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Great Lakes and Ohio River Division during a ceremony in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Sept. 26, 2014. The USACE Deputy Chief of Engineers Maj. Gen. Richard L. Stevens presided over the ceremony while the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division’s Program Director David Dale oversaw the exchange of colors.
  • Jeffrey McMaster, resident engineer at the Fort Detrick Area Office, received the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District, Hero of the Year award from District Engineer and Commander Col. Trey Jordan at a Sept. 16 ceremony. He earned the District award for his poise and professionalism following the August 2013 laboratory fire at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases replacement project. He provided accurate and timely reporting to Corps leaders in the aftermath of the incident.

  • Experts gather water quality data before beginning harbor deepening

    SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Scientists and technicians recently completed intensive water quality monitoring in the Savannah harbor and estuary in preparation for the upcoming deepening of the harbor and shipping channel.

    Wyoming County Water Festival

    The 2014 Wyoming County Water Festival was held at R.D. Bailey Lake Visitor Center in Justice, W.Va., as nearly 300 students from eight schools in the county attended on Sept. 25, 2014. The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection coordinated the event, in collaboration with the National Park Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and a wide variety of other federal, state, local and volunteer organizations.
