  • The Proctor Creek Ecosystem Restoration study, which began in 2015, is looking into potential plans to restore the Proctor Creek Ecosystem that has been ravaged by years of unsustainable land use practices and encroachment. Recently, the Environmental Protection Agency Urban Waters Team was awarded the 2017 Samuel J. Heyman People’s Choice Service to America medal, which included the Proctor Creek study in its nomination packet.

    Nolin River Lake hosts EcoMeet

    U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nolin River lake staff supported an EcoMeet recently where more than 250 fourth grade students came out to the Tailwater at U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nolin Lake, Bee Spring, Kentucky, in September. The EcoMeet is an annual program for students to learn about natural resources. Three surrounding counties participated: Edmonson, Grayson and Hart.

    Cheatham Lake seeks volunteers for Monarch Waystation

    ASHLAND CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 3, 2017) – The staff at Cheatham Lake is cultivating several flower gardens for bees and butterflies, and seeks volunteers to help certify the site as a Monarch Waystation.
