    The USACE Task Force Power Restore GIS Team, which includes Huntington's Craig Ashby, coordinates with Puerto Rico Electric Power Association (PREPA) to catalog locations of transmission, sub transmission, and distribution.   • The Corps’ Savannah Harbor Expansion Project Delivery Team, which led the CSS Georgia recovery efforts, won the Georgia Partnership for Transportation Quality’s Preconstruction Design Award in the NEPA, Environmental Protection, Preservation, Restoration and/or Enhancement Category. The awards recognize engineering teams and firms for innovative transportation and infrastructure projects across the state of Georgia.

    USACE garners design award for CSS Georgia Recovery

    Through coordinated efforts with the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Corps, the U.S. Coast Guard and various state, federal and local agencies, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers accomplished one of the largest archaeological excavations of a maritime site that has ever taken place in the state of Georgia – recovery of the Civil War-era ironclad CSS Georgia. Decades in the making, the project, which was completed by the Corps in August 2017, is garnering recognition from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
  • Jason Moore, a Huntsville Center Systems Engineer, hasn’t let a debilitating muscular disease or even cancer get the best of him. During National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Moore was recognized with the 2017 Secretary of Defense Award for Outstanding Department of Defense Civilian Employees with Disabilities.

He loves his job, which involves supporting a high priority, multi-million dollar, classified network.With all his degrees and certifications, and because he works in IT, most people would Moore is a geek.He’s a self-proclaimed geek, but not your typical geek. He’s not your typical coworker either.
