We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    Flood fighting efforts are taken Sept. 22 to protect completed repair efforts from rising high water along the L-575 Missouri River Levee System where initial breach repairs were being made.

    Winter doesn't put freeze on flood repairs

    When the unprecedented and historical flooding started in the Missouri and Platte River basins in March 2019, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District responded immediately. Within hours, the District, led by the Readiness Branch, was developing plans and sending materials out to fight the flood and provide assistance to communities within harm’s way.

    Dredging to start in Norfolk Harbor inner channels

    NORFOLK, Va. – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Cottrell Contracting are set to begin dredging the Norfolk Harbor Inner Channel and channel to Newport News on Saturday.

    TAD’s senior civilian earns Presidential Rank Award

    When President Donald Trump recognized 141 members of the Federal Government’s Senior Executive Service by presenting them with the annual Presidential Rank Award on Dec. 17, 2019, Alvin “Al” Lee, the Transatlantic Division’s Director of Programs and Business, was among the list of 30 recipients earning the “Distinguished Executives” award – one of only four Department of the Army members receiving the recognition. The Presidential Rank Award is the top award a civilian Federal employee can receive.
  • The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District and the Orange County Flood Control District completed flood channel repairs before Southern California’s flood season. District Commander Col. Aaron Barta gives remarks during the ribbon cutting ceremony. The agencies hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to highlight the completion of repair work on Ocean View Channel, Dec. 20, in Huntington Beach, Calif.

    Corps, Orange County partner to complete flood channel before storm season

    The reconstruction of the channel qualified for repair under the Corps’ Public Law 84-99 Rehabilitation Program, which gives the Corps the authority to repair flood control structures that are damaged due to flood and other natural events.

    Army Corps Connects with Small Business at National Conference

    The New York District participated in the 2019 Federal Small Business Conference in Dallas in November, joining 46 Army Corps of Engineers’ Districts across the United States and Army Corps Chief of Engineers Lt. Gen. Todd Semonite.
