Flatau Jr., commanding officer of Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, admires the newly-dedicated Iraqi War memorial, a refurbished Soviet 122mm howitzer D-30, after the dedication ceremony at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9133, May 31.     Tujunga Wash now open to public

    Black Butte Lake staff recognized for youth conservation education

    Black Butte Lake leadership and staff have been recognized for “continually going above and beyond” in supporting local programs that teach youth the value of protecting natural resources.

    The material placed at Redondo Beach is part of a Corps project to remove about one million cubic yards of material from the Marina del Rey entrance channel in order to deepen the channel to its federally-authorized depth and improve safety for mariners and first responders who use the marina.

    Barkley hydropower rehabilitation gets a 270-ton lift

    Work crews at Barkley Power Plant removed a 270-ton rotor assembly, Aug. 16, 2012 from a crippled hydropower unit damaged 18 months ago by an electrical fire. The heavy lift enables the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District to move forward with the generator's rehabilitation.
