The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division serves as USACE’s tip of the spear in one of the most dynamic construction environments in the world, STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS, BUILDING CAPACITY, and ENHANCING SECURITY for our nation, allies, and partners. 

We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    District team recognized as USACE 2013 PDT of the year

    The task: build a state-of-the-art, world-class medical facility in five years. The result: the $1 billion Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, a model of modern military medical facilities that now stands where a golf course once existed on post.
  • Michael Steele, executive principal at Stratford STEM Magnet High School, presents a community service award May 5, 2014 to Stephanie Coleman, an Equal Employment Opportunity specialist, who accepted on behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District. The school used the event at the high school to highlight the contributions of its partners that contribute to the success of the school and its focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.     Stratford STEM Magnet High School recognizes support of Nashville District

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 5, 2014) – Officials at Stratford STEM Magnet High School recognized the support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District during its “Student, Parent and Partner Success Celebration” held today at the school.

Volunteers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District joined forces with hundreds of community volunteers along the Los Angeles River adjacent to Balboa Park in the Sepulveda Basin for the Friends of the Los Angeles River’s 25th La Gran Limpieza: The Great Los Angeles River Clean Up April 26.

  • Janet Post and Danielle Shack, regulatory specialists in the Regulatory Division, visited Turnagain Elementary School April 23 to meet with fifth and sixth-grade students to talk about wetlands and promote their studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The children learned about different types of wetlands around Alaska and how they help protect from floods and pollutants. The students also felt and touched different animal pelts, bones and hides that use wetlands for their habitat.

    Corps promotes wetlands awareness to elementary students

    Hands were thrown upward toward the classroom ceiling when sixth-grade students answered whether they have visited Potter Marsh, Connors Bog or took a trip on the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail. These public recreational sites are either adjacent to waters of the United States or are local wetlands within the jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District’s regulatory program.

    Middle East District hosts Day with an Engineer for local high school students

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Middle East District hosted a Day with an Engineer for local high school students April 29 at the Middle East District headquarters in Winchester, Va. Day with an Engineer allowed students considering careers in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics to hear from professionals and learn more about these fields.
