    Two project areas, each containing a 50-acre reef site, were identified near Bay St. Louis and Pascagoula, Miss. These sites contain eight 1-acre experimental plots, which are now complete with base reefs consisting of limestone substrate.

    The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) recently worked alongside the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) to complete a crucial phase of a collaboration project to investigate methods for optimizing oyster habitat restoration in the Mississippi Sound.

    Volunteers celebrated National Public Lands Day on September 28 alongside U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Rangers by helping remove invasive plants from the Mount Morris Dam and Recreation Area.

    SAVANNAH, Ga. – Richard B. Russell Lake, commonly referred to as Russell Lake, is situated between the states of Georgia and South Carolina. In a collaborative effort between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources – Wildlife Resources Division, juvenile largemouth bass were recently introduced into the lake to combat ecological damage from invasive fish species.

    Huntsville Center finishes fiscal year with more $2.6B obligated

    Of the $2.6 billion (contracts and cooperative agreements), Installation Support and Program Management Directorate obligated more than $2 billion, Ordnance and Explosives Directorate obligated more than $148 million and the Engineering Directorate obligated more than $55 million.

    In August of 2023, a little over one year ago, devastating wildfires swept through the small tropical towns of Kula and Lahaina, Hawaiʻi, setting the stage for a mission unlike anything the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Fort Worth District has ever seen.
