We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    North Landing Bridge public meeting announced

    CHESAPEAKE, Va. -- The Norfolk District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the cities of Chesapeake and Virginia Beach invite the public to attend a meeting for the North Landing Bridge Replacement Study from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 16. at the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission, 723 Woodlake Drive, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is 30 percent complete with debris removal operations in Lake, Mendocino, Napa and Sonoma Counties following the October 2017 wildfires.

    Mobile District starts first phase of $349 million coastal island restoration project

    The Mobile District has begun the first phase of an approximately $349 million project that will reduce erosion and build stronger hurricane barrier off the coast of Mississippi.
  • Lake Sidney Lanier park rangers pose for a photo earlier this year on National Life Jacket Day to raise awareness of the importance of wearing a life preserver. Promoting life jacket awareness was just one of many community outreach activities that helped Lake Lanier take home first place in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division’s annual Water Safety and Education Awards.

    Lake Lanier to receive award for promoting water safety

    The Lake Sidney Lanier Project Management Office will be recognized as part of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division’s annual Water Safety and Education Awards for having the most water safety contacts of the division’s 32 project lakes this past year. During the 2017 fiscal year, Lake Lanier had almost 340,000 direct contacts and more than 500 indirect contacts to educate the public on water safety.

    Memphis, Nashville districts hold partnering meeting for Tennessee
