We SAFELY deliver agile, responsive, and innovative, design, construction, engineering and contingency solutions in support of U.S. Central Command, U.S. Special Operations Command and other global partners to advance national security interests.

LAPSE IN DoW APPROPRIATIONS - Friday, October 3, 2025

The most recent appropriations for the Department of War expired at 11:59 p.m. EST on September 30, 2025. Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. Civilian personnel not engaged in excepted activities will be placed in a non-work, non-pay status.

 

A NEW CHAPTER: - Tuesday, August 5, 2025

On August 5, 2025, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officially realigned mission oversight of USACE operations in support of U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command from the Transatlantic Division to the Southwestern Division. This transition ensures continued, focused support to U.S. Central Command and U.S. Special Operations Command across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Levant. Both the Middle East District and the Transatlantic Expeditionary District remain fully operational and continue delivering engineering solutions that support regional stability and operational readiness. This is a new chapter, not a new identity. The mission – and the USACE legacy – continues.

    Hillyard named Nashville District Employee of the Month for March 2018

    NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 22, 2018) – Susan Hillyard, administrative support assistant, Old Hickory Lake Resource Manager’s Office, is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District Employee for March 2018.

    “Goo Must Go” - Back in Business on the Elizabeth

    A program to be signed by the Corps of Engineers on May 24 will be the first of its kind in the country and will once again allow impacts to healthy river bottom on the Elizabeth River to go forward while developers offset the impacts by cleaning up some of the contaminated “goo” elsewhere on the river.

    FUDS forum & WV Maneuver Area Site Visit

    On 19-April the Huntington District FUDS PDT conducted the annual West Virginia FUDS Forum at the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center. Representing LRH were personnel from Project Management and HTRW Section, and from the LRL Office of Counsel. Other attendees included reps from WV Department of Environmental Protection, and the host US Forest Service. Representatives from USEPA and LRL's Projects and Program Management Division participated by conference call.

  • Controlled Burn Scheduled for Lake Sonoma's Warm Springs Dam

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in conjunction with Cal Fire, will conduct a controlled burn at Lake Sonoma’s Warm Springs Dam on Thursday, May 31.
