    Division announces Employee of the Quarter

    Joey Behr, a Program Manager in the Business Integration Division, was named the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division’s Employee of the Quarter for October-December 2019. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Behr’s selection was announced during a telephonic All-Hands Town Hall held across the globe on March 19, 2020, with employees from inside the U.S. and from around a dozen countries in the Middle East.

    TAD promotes Small Business participation in overseas programs

    SAME's Federal Small Business Conference connects small businesses directly with Federal Government procurement decision makers, contracting officers, small business liaison officers, and leaders. The event brings together small businesses with large businesses that have teaming and sub-contracting opportunities in support of government work. The 2019 SBC, held Nov. 20-22, 2019, in Dallas Texas, gave members of the Transatlantic Division team an opportunity to provide information on the projects and programs TAD anticipates we will begin developing in 2020 throughout the Middle East.

    Long-serving program manager retires from TAD

    After a career that spanned more than 35 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Transatlantic Division employee Ronald J. Tomechko, retired from federal civil service during a Town Hall event that took place on Aug. 29, 2019, at TAD’s headquarters in Winchester, Virginia. The event was hosted by TAD Commander Col. Christopher Beck who said that throughout his three-plus decades working for the Corps of Engineers, Tomechko “touched more people, more programs, more dollars, and more careers than anyone can imagine.” Beck said if you look up “quiet professional” you would “find the definition of Ron.”

    Task Fore Essayons Hq. Detachment changes command

    The Transatlantic Division’s Task Force Essayons (TFE) conducted a change of command for its Headquarters Detachment on April 6, 2019, at Camp Taji, Iraq. TFE Commander Col. Jim Riely presided over the ceremony where Capt. Joe Marut relinquished command to Capt. Andrea Taylor.
  • Outside the Cubicle:

    The USACE Transatlantic Division's new Chief of Safety and Occupational Health, Lorese Dudley, says her mission is to prevent accidental injury, loss of life, and loss of equipment, all which could impact the mission. Dudley considers safety as a cultural state 24/7 and not a reactive response only implemented during duty hours.
