    Lt. Gen. Scott A. Spellmon, the 55th Chief of Engineers and commanding general of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, along with senior U.S. and Kuwaiti officials, cut the ceremonial ribbon opening the Kuwaiti Navy pier, Feb. 2, 2022. The renovated Navy pier and harbor house construction projects were managed by Transatlantic Division's Middle East District. Spellmon is in Kuwait reviewing Army Corps of Engineer projects and meeting with key leaders and stakeholders

    TAE Soldier receives prestigious award

    Staff Sgt. Mitchell Willyard, a U.S. Army Soldier deployed to support the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division's Expeditionary District, was inducted into the U.S. Army Central Command’s chapter of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, on Jan. 30, 2022.

    In order to optimize assets, USACE combines two remarkable command teams to create its newest District, located in Kuwait.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division conducted a division wide stand down March 30 to bring a more direct focus on extremism in the ranks. The extremism stand down was part of a larger effort the Army is executing to shift its attention back to people and address head-on the harmful behaviors that tear at the fabric of its force, including sexual assault, sexual harassment, suicide, discrimination, extremism. The Official Army Stand-To included a video message from Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III addressing extremism in the military released February 19, 2021. Austin’s words inspired, reminded, and challenged every individual at every level to reaffirm their oaths of office and refocus our attention on people.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division conducted a division wide stand down March 30 to bring a more direct focus on extremism in the ranks. Throughout the stand down event, participants brought questions and scenarios to the surface and had some hard discussions on what extremism looks like and how we can learn to better address issues before they become acts of violence.

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division commander, Brig. Gen. Kimberly Colloton, joined a virtual panel of distinguished guests for an important conversation on women’s gains in Afghanistan, the critical role of Afghan women in Afghanistan’s peace and security, and the role of U.S. organizations in partnering with and empowering Afghan women. The Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center partnered with the U.S.-Afghan Women’s Council and the American Council on Women, Peace and Security to host this live event virtually on Jan. 7, 2020.
