Military Missions

The Transatlantic Division provides services for U.S. military forces during peacetime, contingency, and wartime operations. The work supports U.S. Central Command, the major unified command with operational control of U.S. security interests in the 20 countries from the Horn of Africa through Central Asia.

USACE provides facilities at certain installations in the region in accordance with established government-to-government agreements. These services meet specific customer requirements, from planning and design through construction completion. Through its Middle East District, facilities and operations and maintenance services meet the needs of deployed U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy and Special Operations forces deployed to certain nations in the Middle East and Central Asia.

For Operation Enduring Freedom, the Afghanistan Districts support U.S. Forces-Afghanistan with facilities to improve living conditions and operational capabilities for the thousands of troops committed to the combat operation.

U.S. military construction projects include barracks and dining facilities; administrative buildings and headquarters complexes; parking aprons, runways and taxiways; hospitals and clinics; workshops and maintenance areas; and fuel storage and distribution systems.
