Command Sergeant Major Delfin J. Romani, born in Lima, Peru, joined the U.S. Army in May 1997 and completed Combat Engineer One Station Unit Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in August of 1997.

Romani’s assignments include 9th Engineer Battalion, Schweinfurt, Germany; 37th Engineer Battalion and 27th Engineer Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C.; 299th Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas; 35th Engineer Battalion and Maneuver Support Center Noncommissioned Officer Academy, Drill Sergeant School, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; TRADOC HQ, Fort Monroe, Va.; 173rd Special Troops Battalion, Bamberg Germany; 7th Army NCO Academy, Grafenwoehr, Germany; Engineer Troop, Regimental Support Squadron, Vilseck, Germany; Bravo Troop, Engineer Regimental Squadron, 2 CR, Grafenwoehr, Germany; the United States Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss; 54 Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd IBCT (A), Vicenza, Italy 1SBCT, 4ID, Fort Carson, Colo. His deployments include Operations Joint Guardian-Kosovo Force 1, Force 3, Joint Task Force Bravo - Honduras, Iraqi Freedom II, Enduring Freedom IX-X, and Enduring Freedom XIII-XIV.

Romani’s military education includes the Warrior Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, the First Sergeant Course, _e United States Sergeants Major Academy – Class 66, Drill Sergeant School, Ranger School, Sapper Leader Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Jump Master School, Pathfinder School, Explosive Ordnance Clearance Agent course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Equal Opportunity Representative Course, Combatives Level 1, Combat Life Saver Course, Hazardous Materials Transportation Course, The Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education, Battle Staff, and Master Resiliency Course. He has an Associate’s Degree from Central Texas College, a Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration from Columbia Southern University, and a Masters Degree on Leadership Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso.

He is a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and recipient of the Engineer Regiment’s Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal. In 2007, Romani was recognized as the Maneuver Support Center and Fort Leonard Wood Drill Sergeant of the Year, and the 2007 Army Training and Doctrine Command Drill Sergeant of the Year.
