Iraq Minister of Water Resources Jamal Abbas al-Adili (back to camera) speaks to media, dignitaries from the U.S. and Italian Embassies, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Italian and Iraqi employees during a ceremony June 15, 2019, in Mosul, Iraq, held to commemorate the completion of USACE's work supporting the Mosul Dam Project. The Mosul Dam Project started in 2016 as a joint project among the Iraq Ministry of Water Resources, USACE, and Italian Company Trevi S.p.A. in an effort to stabilize the infrastructure of the Mosul Dam. The dam, which is the largest in Iraq, and the fourth largest in the Middle East, supplies water, hydropower, irrigation and flood control to the region. USACE's Mosul Dam Task Force acted as "The Engineer" for the joint endeavor.
