Mosul Dam Task Force
The Tigris River flows south from the mountains of southeastern Turkey through Iraq and empties into the Persian Gulf. It also forms the border between Turkey and Syria. The Mosul Dam, the largest dam in Iraq and the fourth largest in the Middle East, is located along the Tigris River and its reservoir holds back approximately 32 billion gallons of water. Mosul Dam supplies water, hydropower, irrigation and flood control to the region.
