USACE is part of a joint venture started in 2016 among the Iraq Ministry of Water Resources, the U.S. Government and Italian Company Trevi S.p.A, charged with stabilizing and repairing the infrastructure of the Mosul Dam. The dam, located approximately 30 miles outside the city of Mosul, Iraq, is the largest in Iraq, and the fourth largest in the Middle East. It supplies water, hydropower, irrigation and flood control to the region.
