    May 1 begins the month-long celebration of Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month, a time to recognize the challenges faced by Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and Native Hawaiians and their vital contributions to the American story. It’s also a time to recognize the diverse ethnicities, languages, and cultures that collectively compose Asian and Pacific Islander communities across our nation.     TAM team demonstrates BUILDING STRONG throughout COVID-19 pandemic

    USACE, including the Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM) has continued their on-going mission while also assisting the nation and numerous federal agencies in this time of crisis, BUILDING STRONG through deeds, not words.
  • Despite pandemic, high school intern works with USACE to complete project

    Although COVID-19 virus has led to the cancellation of many of the traditional high school rites of passage around the country, a passion for engineering and an assist from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM) helped high school senior Sally Sydnor maintain some sense of normalcy during a final year of high school that has been anything but. Sydnor was in the middle of an engineering internship with the district when schools closed for the year. With her senior year unexpectedly coming to an end, Sydnor decided to see if there was a way she could continue her engineering project.

    Logistics mission at the Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM), with offices throughout the Middle East including contingency locations, takes on a whole new level of complexity moving needed people, supplies, and facilities, into position to meet mission requirements both at the TAM headquarters in Winchester and throughout the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
  • Middle East District Assists with Coronavirus Assessments

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Middle East District (TAM) mission is primarily outside the continental U.S but USACE’s Norfolk District asked for assistance in conducting assessments of Northern Virginia facilities that could potentially be adapted as alternate care facilities (ACF) and Team TAM members were happy to assist.

    HR Strategic Advisor named Division’s ‘Employee of the Year’

    Jill Altemose, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division Human Resources Strategic Advisor, was named TAD’s “Employee of the Year Award” during an All-Hands Town Hall hosted by TAD Commander Col. (P) Chris Beck on March 19, 2020. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Town Hall was held telephonically across the globe with employees in U.S. and in a dozen countries throughout the Middle East.
  • Division announces Employee of the Quarter

    Joey Behr, a Program Manager in the Business Integration Division, was named the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division’s Employee of the Quarter for October-December 2019. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Behr’s selection was announced during a telephonic All-Hands Town Hall held across the globe on March 19, 2020, with employees from inside the U.S. and from around a dozen countries in the Middle East.

    Each year we recognize March as “Women’s History Month,” acknowledging and celebrating the past and ongoing contributions that women have made. During this time, we remind our nation and the world of the importance of women’s contributions to society and the barriers that exist to full gender equality.

    Two from TAD receive Civilian Service Achievement Medal

    JoAnn Evans, a former Transatlantic Division employee who was recently inducted into the organization’s Gallery of Distinguished Civilians, and Susan Fenton, a current TAD employee, both were awarded the Civilian Service Achievement Medal during a ceremony here Feb. 20.
  • TAD inducts former employees into new Gallery of Distinguished Civilians

    As the Transatlantic Division joins the rest of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in celebrating Engineer Week 2020, the Division inducted two former TAD employees into its new Gallery of Distinguished Civilians (GoDC) in front of family, friends and former co-workers. The two inaugural inductees – Donn Booker and Jo-Ann Evans – complement this year's Engineer Week theme, which is “Pioneers of Progress.” Both were inducted into the GoDC during a ceremony held Feb. 20, 2020 at TAD’s headquarters in Winchester, Va.
