The 553rd Engineer Detachment, known as the Forward Engineer Support Team- Advance (FEST-A), a part of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Field Force Engineering Program, is working with the Area Support Group and USACE in repairing critical infrastructure as it pertains to flood mitigation at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.

According to the team the culvert sustained some damage during severe flooding in the spring. The FEST, with Jimenez-Vargas as the lead engineer for this project, developed several designs to repair and improve the drainage on Bagram.

This is just one of many projects the FEST designs in support of the on-going flood mitigation effort.
